Los terroristas justifican el terrorismo

Terrorists advance consequentialist defences of terrorism or, alternatively, justify it as inflicting punishment on the guilty or waging war on not-innocent combatants. Consequentialist defences are criticized on three grounds: terrorist acts are often expressivist not instrumental; instrumental terrorism is wholly inefficacious in achieving goals which might justify terrorism's costs; and there is an alternative, effective and less costly way of achieving these benefits in democracies and, to some extent, in nondemocratic societies. It is argued the moral basis of the just war principle of legitimate authority is inconsistent with terrorism being either war or punishment. Consequently, terrorism invariably harms innocents.
