Abstract
After examining two recent attempts, by L. J. Cohen and C. Wright, to offer a criterion of empirical meaning, which, in line with Ayer's proposal in Language, Truth, and Logic, are based on the derivability of observational consequences, a new objection is made to Wright's amended criterion.
