Abstract
This article deals with the epistemic status of social ceteris paribus laws, since regarding them as scientific ones poses great problems and has therefore generated great controversy. The analysis focuses especially on ceteris paribus laws in economics and, hence, on how this application reveals the inexact nature of this discipline.
