Abstract
This paper has as its main objective to critically revise Searle's biological naturalism. This critical analysis intends to show that the Searlean account ends up reaching some, let us say, unwanted results that are, we think so, contradictory with what we identify as Searle's original intentions. Nevertheless, this critical assessment would provide support for a positive view that, starting from the same initial assumptions that biological naturalism does, confronts the mind-body problem avoiding the main difficulties in which biological naturalism falls into.
