Metapsychologische Probleme mit der Theorie der Affekte

Es wurde über die Jahrzehnte hinweg immer wieder betont, daß die Psy­choanalyse keine befriedigende Affekttheorie hat und daß dies in einem merkwürdigen Gegensatz zur Bedeutung der Affekte für die Praxis steht. Das Ziel dieses Beitrages ist es, einige wichtige Probleme herauszuarbei­ten, die in der theoretischen Konzipierung der Affekte bestanden und be­stehen. Als Bezugsrahmen dient dabei die klassische Metapsychologie. Es geht zuerst um das Verhältnis von Affekt und Trieb, dann um die An­wendung der klassischen metapsychologischen Gesichtspunkte (dyna­misch, ökonomisch, topisch und strukturell) auf die Affekte und schließ­lich um das Verhältnis neuerer Konzeptionen zur Freudschen Theorie.

Summary

For decades it has repeatedly been pointed out that psychoanalysis does not have a sufficient theory of affects, and that this stands in remarkable contrast to the importance of the affects in practice. The paper will elaborate on some important problems that have been existing in regard to the theoretical concept of the affects. The classical metapsychology is serving here as the frame of reference for investigating firstly the relationship between affect and instinct, followed by how the metatheoretical aspects (dynamic, economic, topographical, and structural) are applied to the affects. Finally more recent concepts will be looked at in their relation to Freudian theory.
